Why We Rarely Offer Silver Options

At DASH OF JAPAN, you may notice that most of our earrings are finished with gold findings rather than silver. Some customers might wonder why. The reason is simple: our designs and color palettes are created with gold in mind.                                             

At DASH OF JAPAN, we believe gold brings out the best in Mizuhiki colors and textures. It brings out the vibrancy of colors and creates balance, allowing each piece to stand out beautifully. 

In my own jewelry collection, silver is usually my first choice. However, with Mizuhiki, I discovered something different: gold simply makes the colors come alive in a way silver never quite could. As the artist behind each piece, I sometimes notice that with silver, the “so pretty” spark fades—while with gold, it shines.

For this reason, our primary focus is on selecting colors and designing styles that harmonize with gold findings.

Silver, on the other hand, is offered only for those who specifically prefer it. Because our pieces are not originally designed with silver in mind, some customers may feel that a silver option does not look quite as natural. This is why we always recommend gold as the best choice to showcase Mizuhiki’s beauty.

That said, silver options are available in limited numbers for those who truly prefer them. Availability may vary, and at times silver findings may sell out—we kindly ask for your understanding. For this reason, we are unable to accommodate requests such as “Can you make this in silver instead?”
